Washington Post columnist John Kelly joined NTF staff members David Kitto (Executive Director) and Lana Mason (Archivist with The Winthrop Group) to explore The National Theatre Archive in early August. The National Theatre has been collecting materials from its 186 year history in fits and starts since the nonprofit National Theatre Foundation (previously named Corporation) was founded in 1974. Mr. Kitto has brought new life into the program by hiring Ms. Mason to process the vast collection and unearth some of the “gems” from the varied past of this DC landmark theatre.
